How does it work?
You receive a kit containing a custom ash capsule to collect a cremated remains sample. After you ship it back to us, we place your capsule in the Elysium spacecraft that will be launched into space.
How do you launch ashes into space?
The ashes are carried by a launch vehicle flying to space. Once it reaches its planned orbit our memorial spacecraft is deployed and peacefully orbits the Earth for several months.
How much cremated remains should I provide?
The kit includes a mini-scoop to easily transfer a symbolic portion of the remains to the ash capsule. The capsule contains about a dozen of mini-scoops. The total weight depends on the density of the remains and can theoretically be up to a gram. The capsule dimensions are 0.4 x 0.4 x 0.4 inches.
When is the launch schedule?
Our next launch is scheduled for summer 2014. The most recent update regarding the launch date is always available on our website. Because the launch safety rules are strict and necessary, the launch can be delayed for a number of technical reasons, which are outside the control of Elysium Space. In such an event, you will be notified as early as possible.
Can I book a spaceflight now?
Yes, reservations are open. The number of participants is limited by the spacecraft capacity and reservations will be on a first come first serve basis. We therefore strongly advise you to book your spaceflight as early as possible.
Where will the launch viewing event take place?
There are many prime viewing areas around the Canaveral Air Station and Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The complex is surrounded by beautiful beaches and wonderful views, such as the shores of the Indian River, Playalinda Beach, Cocoa Beach or Jetty Park. The invation to the launch viewing event will include all details regarding the selected location and the different options for you and your guests. Please note that the travel to the launch, launch lodging and meals are the responsibility of the attendees.
What if the launch does not succeed?
The memorial spaceflight service includes a service guarantee: in case of failure, we will reschedule your flight to our next launch opportunity at no additional cost.
Do you create orbital pollution?
No, Elysium Space is concerned by the space environment and does not create orbital pollution. Eventually, our memorial spacecraft harmlessly reenters the Earth's atmosphere, blazing as a shooting star.
How can I place an order?
Orders can be placed on our website at elysiumspace.com - We do not currently provide the option to order by phone or alternate payment type.
What payment and purchase options are available?
Our online store accepts credit card payments using Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club. We do not currently accept payments via Paypal, Bitcoin, or in the form of personal checks or money orders.
Is your shopping cart secure?

What countries do you ship to?
Elysium Space only accepts orders from the United States and Japan at the present time. Please subscribe to our newsletter to be notified when new countries will be added.
How do you ship the kits?
We use USPS Priority Mail Express service in the U.S. (overnight delivery to most domestic destinations) and Priority Mail Express International for international customers.
How are shipping fees calculated?
For US customers, shipping fees include both the delivery of your kit plus the pre-paid shipping label to ship the ash capsule back to us. For international customers, shipping fees include the delivery of your kit only (instructions are provided to ship the ash capsule back). All the shipping material you need is included in the kit.
Why do you use USPS services?
UPS, FedEx or DHL do not accept cremated remains for shipment.
